The BI received a tip that the foreigner was in Makati City and had been staying in the country for a long time without the necessary documents.

The BI believes that Ruslanova is associated with a syndicate in West Africa involved in illegal drugs.

Members of said syndicate were previously captured by the BI and National Bureau of Investigation in a bar in Makati on June 20, 2022.

The NBI is also investigating Ruslanova for her possible ties to the West African syndicate.

She also faces deportation charges at the BI after failing to leave the country since October 4, 2018.

She did not apply for an extension of her stay in the Philippines.
