The governments of the Republic of Korea and the Philippines have signed an agreement to fund Phase 1 of the LLRN project with P50.61 billion through the Export-Import Bank of Korea-Economic Development Cooperation Fund (KEXIM-EDCF), in collaboration with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB).
The project will construct a 37.6-kilometer viaduct and embankment from Barangay Lower Bicutan, Taguig City to Calamba, Laguna.
Included in the project are eight interchanges that will connect to nearby public roads in Lower Bicutan in Taguig, Sucat in Paranaque, Alabang in Muntinlupa, Tunasan, San Pedro/Biñan, Santa Rosa, Cabuyao, and Calamba in Laguna.
The project is expected to be completed by 2028.
