The proclamation for the declaration of Eid'l Fitr and Eid'l Adha as national holidays will be released when the date of the Islamic holidays, depending on the Hijra (lunar calendar) or Islamic calendar, or based on Islamic astronomical calculations, is known.
The National Commission on Muslim Filipinos will recommend to the President's Office the actual dates of Eid'l Fitr and Eid'l Adha.
Notably, the EDSA People Power Anniversary, which the government usually declares as a holiday every February 25, is not on the list.
Malacañang explained that February 25 was not declared a holiday because it fell on a Sunday, a non-working day.
