A man, allegedly experiencing family problems, climbed an electrical pole in front of the Barangay Hall of Western Bicutan, Taguig City around 10:00 pm on August 6, 2024.

According to a witness who is a member of Taguig.com, the distressed man was about to jump from the pole.

Quickly arriving at the scene were personnel from Western Bicutan Barangay led by Captain Pedrito Bermas. They were joined by the Taguig City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office, the Bureau of Fire Protection Special Rescue Force National Headquarters, Taguig City Police Substation 2, Southern Police District Team 2, Meralco, and other agencies of the Taguig City Government.

Electricity in the area was immediately cut off to ensure the safe retrieval of the man from his perch on the pole.
The man spent four hours on the pole before he was successfully brought down.

The Western Bicutan Barangay said that the man was in a dangerous position and was difficult for the rescuers to reach.
Electricity was promptly restored in the area after the man was brought down from the pole.
