The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) launched its 'Bayanihan in the Barangay' project at Pembo Elementary School in Taguig City on October 10, 2024, with the cooperation of the city government of Taguig.

The project aims to promote community cooperation towards cleanliness.

MMDA Chairman, Atty. Romando Artes, stated they will continue collaborating with Taguig for the removal of sewer blockages, tree cutting, fumigation to drive away mosquitoes, painting of pedestrian lanes, and cleaning waterways, particularly what they accomplished in Barangay Pembo, Cembo, and Comembo.

Cayetano expressed thanks for MMDA's initiative and emphasized the responsibility of each Taguig citizen to maintain cleanliness.

Meanwhile, students of Pembo Elementary School were educated about ordinances prohibiting littering, smoking, disaster preparedness, and the trash-to-cash project.
