Today, July 7, 2024, marks the last day of the exhibit and dialogue at the Modern Contemporary Art Festival (MoCAF) held at the Grand Ballroom of the Marquis Events Place in the Marquis Building, Rizal Drive, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.
Taguig City Mayor Lani Cayetano attended the opening of MoCAF as an honored guest on July 5, 2024.
The three-day art festival features fifty-five booths and 34 exhibits of paintings, sculptures, and more.
"As the Mayor of Taguig, a city that serves as a haven for artists and art enthusiasts, we wholeheartedly support MoCAF and its mission to uplift our local art community. We invite Taguigeños to spend their weekend at MoCAF to support and witness the country's evolving art scene, showcasing local and international talents," stated Mayor Cayetano in a Facebook post where she also shared photos from the art festival.
Also in attendance at the opening of MoCAF were the ambassador of Spain to the Philippines, Miguel Utray Delgado, Tourism Undersecretary Atty. Shereen Gail Yu-Pamintuan, Fort Bonifacio Barangay Captain Jorge Bocobo, and others.
MoCAF will continue until this Sunday, July 7, from 10:00 in the morning until 9:00 in the evening, with an entrance fee of P300. Tickets can be purchased online at www.mocaf.net and physical tickets are to be collected at the Marquis Events Place.
A discussion will also be held around 10:30 in the morning on the topic: "The Price Talk: How Should Art Be Priced?"
Later at around 2:00 in the afternoon, another discussion will take place on: "Homage, Appropriation, or Plagiarism? When is Copying Art Illegal?"
