The family of a Filipina woman, who was allegedly murdered by her husband in Bled, Slovenia just before the New Year, is seeking justice.

Marvil Facturan-Kocjančič was allegedly stabbed to death by her husband, Mitja, on December 29, 2024, while they were vacationing near Lake Bled, Slovenia.

Vilma Facturan is calling for appropriate punishment for Mitja, who was taken to a mental health facility due to a history of mental health issues.

Facturan is also appealing for her daughter's remains to be brought back to the Philippines.

Marvil and Mitja met on social media in February 2024.

Mitja traveled to the Philippines in July and he and Marvil got married in Silang, Cavite.

Marvil arrived in Slovenia on December 22, 2024.

In one of Marvil's last social media posts, she shared about the abuse, hinting at possible troubling circumstances in their relationship.

Undersecretary Eduardo de Vega of the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) promised to help Marvil's family secure justice.

Slovenian authorities are currently investigating the incident.

If Mitja is found to have recovered from his mental health issues at the time of the alleged crime, he can be charged with murder and face imprisonment.
