A motorcycle taxi driver and his male companion were arrested by police officers in Barangay Western Bicutan, Taguig City on July 10, 2024, after confiscating 53 grams of methamphetamine from them.

In a combined operation conducted by the Southern Police District Drug Enforcement Unit, District Intelligence Division, District Special Operations Unit, District Mobile Force Battalion, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency - Southern District Office, and Sub-station 2 of the Taguig City Police Station, alias Melvin, a 43-year-old motorcycle taxi driver long traced by the police for drug-related activities, fell into their custody.

Along with him, 51-year-old alias George, who has also been implicated in illegal drugs for a long time, was arrested.

The buy-bust operation took place around 5:30 in the afternoon of July 10 whereupon 3 heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets believed to contain methamphetamine worth ₱360,400.00 were seized from the two men.

Also recovered was the buy-bust money, consisting of a genuine ₱1000.00 bill, 24 pieces of ₱1000.00 boodle money, and a mobile phone.

The confiscated drugs and items were turned over to the SPD Forensic Unit for further laboratory examination.

The two are facing charges for violating Sections 5 and 11 under Article 2 of Republic Act 9165.
