At present, a convention center that can hold 600 people is already in use. In January of this year, this was where the Business One Stop Shop (BOSS) for those applying and renewing business permits was held.
The building did not meet its target completion date in 2021 due to the pandemic. Currently, those with transactions at Taguig city hall are visiting the old city hall in Barangay Tuktukan.
Construction of the new Taguig city hall began with a groundbreaking ceremony in Barangay Ususan on June 25, 2019. The construction is overseen by Architect Dan Lichauco, Architect Dennis Guran, and Engineer Art Santos.
The new city hall will be an elegant and excellent space for public service, showcasing the ongoing development of the province in economy, society, and industry.
The first four floors appear as a "glass cube" hosting the city convention center. In the lobby of the fourth floor, there is a charging center for mobile devices for those waiting on transactions at the city hall. The remaining floors will house different offices of Taguig City, with an atrium to let in sunlight.
The twelfth to fifteenth floors will be the mayor's office, with an architecture inspired by the "bahay na bato". It features a rectangular glassbox with stainless windows that will be illuminated at night.
Apart from the atrium with mobile device charging, Taguig residents can also expect a green parking podium that can accommodate 300 cars and 200 motorcycles, a roof deck with a garden, an assembly hall, food court, jogging path, and theater.
Taguig City Mayor Lani Cayetano said that this building will reflect the excellent and honest governance of their province-city.
Currently, the Office of the Mayor and other key offices of Taguig City Hall are still located in Barangay Tuktukan. This building was constructed in 1959 and has been renovated three times.
