Residents of Taguig, as well as visitors from other areas, flocked to the concert and grand fireworks display at 5th Avenue in BGC. The festivities began at 7:30 p.m. on December 31, 2024, and extended until the early hours of January 1, 2025.
Performances were given by Original Pilipino Music (OPM) artists such as Sarah Geronimo, Rico Blanco and Juan Karlos, as well as British duo Honne and Korean Pop Group Itzy.
The event was hosted by Gabbi Garcia and Mikael Daez.
In attendance were Taguig City Mayor Lani Cayetano, Senator Alan Peter Cayetano, and Senator Pia Cayetano.
In a post on her Facebook Page, the mayor stated that she cannot forget the joyful New Year's celebration in Taguig.
"Thank you to the residents of Taguig and visitors from all over the country and around the world for joining us in our aspirations to fully transform our Province City into a lively and caring city! In Taguig, it's possible to celebrate OPM courtesy of exceptional Filipino artists like Juan Karlos, Rico Blanco, and Sarah Geronimo who even performed a surprise duet with her husband, Matteo Guidicelli! The hosting talents of Gabbi Garcia and Mikael Daez were also outstanding! It's a joy for us to bring the K-Pop group Itzy and English Electro-Pop band Honne, providing our fellow Filipinos the opportunity to watch international performers in our own city for free," according to Mayor Cayetano.
