Three others, relatives of the victims, were injured in the fire at Building 17 of the MRB Condominium located on C5 Road, Barangay Ususan at 4:57 in the afternoon.
The victims were transported to Taguig Pateros District Hospital for treatment.
According to the Taguig Bureau of Fire Protection, three residential units were engulfed by the fire, which was controlled by 5:07 in the afternoon and fully extinguished by 5:27.
Romerei Macarse, who lives close to the site of the fire, posted about the incident.
"It was scary. The black smoke almost engulfed the vicinity including ours. Fortunately, it was immediately controlled but not without casualties. The two dead bodies found were that of siblings embracing each other. It breaks my heart that such a tragedy happened on New Year's Eve," Macarse said.
Investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the fire.
