Nine police officers were awarded medals of valor at the 28th Police Community Relations Month Celebration held at Camp Bagong Diwa, Taguig City on July 31.

The Philippine National Police - National Capital Region Office (PNP-NCRPO) acknowledged the contributions of the officers involved in two significant buy-bust operations in July. During these operations, they confiscated over 10 million pesos worth of suspected shabu, or methamphetamine hydrochloride. Among those awarded Medals of Valor were Colonel Earl Belarmino Castillo, Corporal Barney Cagalpin Malabana, Captain Rhoby Maghinang Hipolito, and Senior Sergeant Jimmy Joy Erestain Fajardo.

Also honored were the officers responsible for the arrest of the suspect in the shooting of Remate Online photographer Joshua Abiad and his family. The diligent follow-up by Captain Geronimo Caparas III and Corporal Wilbur Ramos led to the swift capture of the shooting suspect.

Medals of Valor were also conferred upon officers who successfully ensured the peaceful conduct of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s second State of the Nation Address. The awardees were Major General Rudolph Dimas, Commander of Task Group Antabay, Brigadier General Reynaldo Tamondong, Commander of Task Group Peace and Order, and Brigadier General Lex Ephraim Gurat, Commander of Task Group Security.

Recognition plaques were awarded to the Southern Police District as Outstanding NCRPO Police District in the Police Community Affairs Division, the Mandaluyong City Police Station as Outstanding City Police Station, and the Pateros Municipal Police Station as Outstanding Municipal Police Station in the Police Community Affairs Division.

The awarding ceremony was led by PNP-NCRPO Acting Regional Director, Brigadier General Jose Melencio Nartatez, along with Atty. Lucas Managuelod, Chairman of the Public Safety Savings and Loan, Incorporated (PSSLAI).

At the same event, the police force received donations of five TMX 125cc motorcycles, various search and rescue equipment, and cleaning supplies from PSSLAI.
