According to a Facebook post by the Taguig City government, the upgrade to Signal Number 2 in Metro Manila at 8:00 pm on November 17, due to Typhoon Pepito, is the reason for the cancellation of classes.

"Following DepEd Order No. 37, s. 2022, classes from Kindergarten to Grade 12, including ALS, in public and private schools are automatically suspended. Schools are advised to implement alternative learning delivery modes," the City Government of Taguig stated.

Despite the Wind Signal Number 2, Taguig City says the weather conditions are expected to improve today, with only intermittent rain in some parts of Metro Manila.

Typhoon Pepito is set to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) this morning or noon, November 18.
