Assistant Secretary Amanda Nograles of the DTI Consumer Protection Group stated that when a product is under promotional discount, the senior citizen or PWD will have to choose whether they will take the promotional discount or their entitlement as a senior citizen.
This, she said, is stipulated in Republic Act 9994, also known as the "Expanded Senior Citizen Act of 2010."
Section 4 of the Act states: "In the purchase of goods and services which are on promotional discount, the senior citizen can avail of the promotional discount or the discount provided herein, whichever is higher."
