Individuals applying for jobs in private companies within Taguig City no longer need to secure a Mayor's Permit or clearance.

Under Ordinance Number 109, passed by the City Council on December 18, 2023, and recently approved by Taguig City Mayor Lani Cayetano, employees, including the self-employed or those practicing their profession, are no longer required to submit the formerly mandatory Mayor's Permit or clearance.

This ordinance represents a modification to the Taguig Tax Revenue Code, where it has been added that individuals are exempted from this previous requirement, making it easier for those seeking employment or currently working to fulfill their obligations.

The amendment not only saves time but also reduces financial expenditure for job seekers.

"Our commitment is anchored in the constitutional mandate to provide full protection to labor and to promote full employment opportunities for all. We strive to simplify processes, making them more accessible for individuals contributing to Taguig's vibrant workforce," Cayetano expressed.

The amendment to the Taguig Tax Revenue Code, relating to the reduced documentary requirement, aligns with Taguig's policy of encouraging its citizens to actively seek employment or continue their profession, rooted in Section 16 of the Local Government Code of 1991.
