In a buy-bust operation, not only were illegal drugs confiscated but also an illegal firearm from a 47-year-old man in Barangay Central Bicutan, Taguig City on July 16, 2024.

The operation was carried out by the Station Drug Enforcement Unit of the Taguig City Police, in cooperation with Sub-station 7, at 4:40 a.m. on Tuesday. They arrested the suspect known as "Joy," who works as a contractor.

A total of 31.6 grams of suspected methamphetamine, estimated to be worth ₱214,880.00, was confiscated from "Joy."

The police also discovered an illegal firearm carried by "Joy," a .45 caliber Armscor pistol, along with five bullets and a magazine.

The police were also able to recover a genuine ₱500 bill and ₱6,000.00 of boodle money used in the buy-bust operation.

"Joy" now faces charges for violation of Section 5 and Section 11 of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, as well as Republic Act 10591, or the Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition.

The confiscated evidence has been submitted to the Southern Police District Forensic Unit (SPDFU) for analysis.
