A total of 690 children who studied at day care centers in Taguig were recognized in a ceremony called "Children with Honor" held at the Taguig City University Auditorium last August 22.
Led by the City Social Welfare and Development Office and the Local School Board, the event honored children who excelled in intellect and talent and completed Levels 1 and 2 of the Taguig Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) Program.
The children were awarded medals and certificates of recognition at the ceremony, where some students also gave performances.
The ceremony was spearheaded by Taguig City Mayor Lani Cayetano, who assured that Taguig continues to provide free and quality education to students. In addition to free supplies and uniforms, the assurance of high-quality education and meaningful learning experiences are what Taguig offers as a transformative, lively, and caring city.
"These children are the greatest asset of the City of Taguig. They are the most unique and most valuable treasure of our city. We owe it to them, to work together to make sure that all the dreams and aspirations that they have, as little learners, will all be possible," said Cayetano.
"We dedicate the lives of our young learners to the Lord, as we work hard, hand in hand, to ensure a beautiful future for the young people of Taguig," added the mayor.
