More than ₱1 million worth of illicit drugs were confiscated from a man in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Upper Bicutan, Taguig City, on June 25, 2024.

According to the Taguig City Police Station Drug Enforcement Unit, one of their agents posed as a buyer and attempted to purchase shabu from a man identified only as Abel, 39 years old, at around 4:45 in the morning on Tuesday.

When the undercover buyer handed over the money, amounting to ₱20,000 - only one of which was a genuine ₱1,000 bill, with the rest being counterfeit - and as the suspect was about to hand over the suspected shabu, he was apprehended by the hidden police officers.

Abel was found to be in possession of 150 grams of suspected shabu, with an estimated value of ₱1,020,000.00.

Seized from Abel were 6 sachets of illicit drugs, a digital weighing scale, a red pouch, and the money used in the buy-bust.

Abel now faces charges of violating Sections 5 and 11, Article II of the Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
