Authorities have confiscated over P1.5 million worth of suspected shabu from two long-time suspected female drug pushers in an operation in Barangay Maharlika, Taguig City last September 30, 2024.
The operation, conducted by the Southern Police District (SPD), Taguig Police and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), resulted in the arrest of Sandra Ali Manibpal, also known as Kar, aged 35, and Meriam Ganao Butukan, 30, both part-time employees of a well-known courier company and residents of Barangay Maharlika, Taguig City.
Around 11:45 PM on September 30, an undercover police agent acting as a buyer was able to procure 225 grams of suspected shabu from the duo, valued at approximately Php1,530,000.00.
Manibpal will face charges for violating the "Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002" while charges for violating Sections 5 and 11 under Article II of R.A. 9165 will be filed against Butukan in court.
NCRPO Regional Director Melencio Nartatez assured that the police force continues to carry out operations to combat the spread of illegal drugs and other related illegal activities.
"The NCRPO, in coordination with other law enforcement agencies, continues to implement strategic operations, heightened intelligence gathering, and community-based initiatives to ensure that the region remains vigilant and proactive in the fight against illegal drugs. It is our collective responsibility to maintain peace and order and protect communities from the harmful effects of illegal substances," Nartatez said.
