A welder was arrested after attempting to sell suspected shabu in a buy-bust operation in Barangay West Rembo, Taguig City on July 22, 2024.

The Southern Police District (SPD) identified the arrested suspect as 'alias Sunny', a 41-year-old individual, who was apprehended during the operation at Napindan Site, Barangay West Rembo, Taguig City around 10:00 PM last Monday.

The buy-bust operation was conducted by the Taguig Police Drug Enforcement Unit, where they seized from Sunny the suspected shabu weighing 22.5 grams and estimated to be worth about P153,000. They also recovered P500 in actual currency and P7,000 in boodle money.

The suspect will face charges for violating Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).

Meanwhile, shabu worth over three million pesos was confiscated in two separate operations in Taguig City on Wednesday, July 17, 2024.

In Barangay Ususan, police seized about 400 grams of shabu estimated to be worth P2.72 million from two women, identified as Elizabeth Villanueva, aged 26, and Clarita Corpuz, aged 58.

The illegal substance was found in a plastic bag bearing the brand Guanyinwang, a tea brand.

On the same Wednesday, in Barangay San Miguel, Michael Gardon was arrested for possessing 50 grams of shabu.

The three suspects will also face charges for violating the RA 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
