The City Government of Taguig is set to conduct the Pet Caravan on June 17, 2024, Monday, at the Taguig Center for Disaster Management Office, Dalupang St., Barangay Central Signal from 7:00 in the morning until 4:00 in the afternoon.
The services provided for pets, particularly dogs and cats, by the Office of the City Veterinarian of Taguig will be free of charge.
For the anti-rabies vaccination, dogs and cats that can be vaccinated for free must be 3 months old and above and free from any illness. Likewise, they should not have bitten or scratched anyone in the past two weeks. Pets in heat, pregnant, or nursing female dogs or cats are not allowed to be vaccinated.
Spaying or neutering can also be availed for free at the Pet Caravan in Barangay Central Signal. Priority for spaying or neutering will be given to those who have registered since May 8, 2024, via the provided pre-registration link.
Walk-ins can try but the pet to be neutered or spayed needs to be six months old and above and weighing 3 kilograms or more. Pregnant, nursing, or in heat pets are not allowed. Also, it is important to ensure that the pet has not bitten anyone in the past two weeks. And the pet should not eat 6 to 8 hours before the procedure.
There will also be free microchipping, deworming, and administration of vitamins and other necessary medication. Veterinarians will also be available to answer questions about the health status of the pet.
The Pet Caravan regularly visits various barangays in Taguig City.
Pet owners just need to bring a valid ID with an address in Taguig or a barangay in EMBO, along with an updated anti-rabies vaccination card if available.
Pets brought to the event must be diapered, caged or leashed, and have cleaning supplies for their waste.
In case the pet is aggressive, it should be muzzled.
