Affordable rice, vegetables, fruits, meat, and other goods were sold at the Direct Retailing Program, Project of the Marcos Government, at Taguig Eco Park in Barangay Pinagsama, Taguig City on October 21, 2024.
The Taguig Agriculture Office collaborated with the Office of the President, the Department of Agriculture, the Department of Trade and Industry, the Department of Labor and Employment, the Department of Social Welfare and Development, and the Department of the Interior and Local Government to set up booths where small-scale farmers and business owners could sell their products.
In the second part of the program, 563 members of homeowners' associations (HOA) each received support of P2,000 to assist with their daily needs and to purchase goods at the direct retailing event.
The Presidential Direct Retailing program is an initiative of the Marcos government to provide opportunities for farmers and small business owners to sell their products to low-income citizens at affordable prices.
Taguig City Mayor Lani Cayetano attended the event.
