Art is an expression of culture and sentiment. Art in a workplace is not just for decoration but it also educates and brings a unique vitality to those who see it, according to Isa Lorenzo of Silverlens Galleries who arranged the collection of art pieces at the Menarco Vertical Museum in Menarco Tower, 32nd street, in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.
The Menarco Development Corporation Tower, owned by Menardo Jimenez of GMA Network and his daughter Carmen Jimenez-Ong, features public spaces in the building filled with art works by Filipino artists. It took seven years for Ong, the founder and CEO of Menarco, to establish this unique museum in the country.
The initial collection includes 39 art pieces from Philippine contemporary artists. One of the pieces on display on the first floor is titled "The Hunters Enter the Woods" by Patricia Perez Eustaquio, created in 2016. It is a mix of painting, installation, drawing, and fabric. It depicts orchids from the Victorian era. Since orchid flowers symbolize wealth and power, British hunters sought out unique orchids to sell in their country.

This painting is titled "Mga Bantay ng Bayan" ("Guardians of the Nation") by Alfredo Esquillo, created in 2017. It is based on an old photograph of a group of indigenous Filipinos in Mindanao, a region known for its resistance against colonizers.
