The price of rice has been reduced to P38.00 per kilo from the previous P40.00 per kilo under the government's Rice for All program.

Several Kadiwa stores have already begun selling rice at this reduced price today. The rice being sold is well-milled with 25% broken grains, which could be either imported or locally sourced. The said rice was initially sold in the market at a price of P45.00 per kilo.

Sweet rice is also being sold at P36.00 per kilo, and there is also rice priced at P29.00, but it is only sold to the poorest sectors.

The Department of Agriculture has asked local government units to help them distribute this cheap rice in their local markets.
