Department of Agriculture Assistant Secretary Arnel de Mesa stated that starting on Friday, October 11, 2024, well-milled rice under the Rice-for-All program will only be P43.00 per kilo.

In August, the DA launched the Rice-for-All program, where rice sold in select Kadiwa stores was priced at P45.00 per kilo.

From October 11, the price per kilo of rice in Kadiwa will be dropped to P43.00 per kilo as the market price of rice has also decreased. According to DA's monitoring, the price of rice in Metro Manila markets ranges between P45.00 and P55.00 per kilo.

The Rice-for-All initiative originated from the P29 Rice Program, where the poor and vulnerable sectors could buy rice for P29.00 per kilo, the difference being subsidized by the government.

The Rice-for-All program is for anyone shopping at the Kadiwa stores nationwide. One of the Kadiwa stores is located in FTI-Taguig.
