The Taguig City - Bureau of Fire Protection identified the deceased as Mamerto Cordovez Jr., 61 years old.

The fire was reported to the firefighters at 12:40 a.m. on January 8, and it was extinguished by 1:14 a.m.
The blaze, which resulted in an estimated P525,000 in property damage, affected four families or 12 individuals.

The fire is said to have started in a bedroom, but the exact cause is still being investigated.
The condition of the fire victims was personally checked by Taguig Mayor Lani Cayetano and Senator Alan Peter Cayetano the morning following the incident on January 8.

Assistance has been extended to the victims by the local government of Taguig through the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO).
