Signal number 3 has been raised over seven provinces in Luzon as Typhoon Nika (international name: Toraji) approaches landfall.

The latest report from the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) lists the following areas currently under signal number 3:

* Isabela
* Northern parts of Nueva Vizcaya (Diadi, Bagabag, Quezon, Solano, Villaverde, Kasibu, Ambaguio, Bayombong)
* Northern parts of Quirino (Diffun, Cabarroguis, Aglipay, Maddela, Saguday)
* Kalinga
* Mountain Province
* Ifugao
* Northern parts of Aurora (Dilasag, Casiguran, Dinalungan)

As of 10:00 PM last night, November 10, 2024, the typhoon was located 265 kilometers east of Baler, Aurora (15.6°N, 124.1°E).

The storm carries winds of up to 110 kilometers per hour near the center, with gustiness of up to 135 kilometers per hour, and a central pressure of 980 hPa.

It is moving west-northwest at a speed of 15 kilometers per hour.

PAGASA has stated that there is a high possibility that Typhoon Nika will reach typhoon category within the next 12 hours, with peak winds potentially reaching 130 kilometers per hour.

Its strong winds extend up to 340 kilometers near the center.
