Seven public elementary school students from Taguig City brought honor to their country at the 2023 Kaohsiung International Invention and Design Expo (KIDE) held in Kaohsiung, Taiwan last December.
Taguig Mayor Lani Cayetano personally congratulated the medal winners Lance Bitor, Mateo Endrique Dizon, Geion Kenn Guanzon, Neciel Joy Tolentino, Aleka Mish'ella Zerda, Aiden Carlo Velasco, and Malik Emmanuel Hara when the children visited Taguig City Hall with their coaches recently.
Cayetano said that in addition to the silver medals they received from the World Invention Intellectual Property Associations (WIIPA), the students also brought home a Special Award from the Korea University Invention Association (KUIA) for their invention, the Papaya Lemon Coconut Oil (PLC) Moisturizing and Anti-Bacterial Soap.
"Your sister Lani Cayetano and the whole city of Taguig are here to support passionate inventors like you! Your success is Taguig's success," Cayetano said in her Facebook post.
The KIDE was held at the Kaohsiung Exhibition Center in Taiwan, under the auspices of the World Invention Intellectual Property Associations (WIIPA) and the Taiwan Invention Products Promotion Association (TIPPA) from November 30 to December 2, 2023.
More than 26 countries participated and over 500 inventions were showcased in the biggest exposition for inventors in Asia.
