Aiming to help mitigate the effects of climate change, the DoST - Science and Technology Information Institute (STII) has entered into an agreement with the Philippine National Oil Co. Renewables Corp. (PNOC RC) for this project.
In a statement, the STII said that their partnership with PNOC is a significant step towards embracing renewable energy to address the negative effects of climate change.
This agreement will span over fifteen years, under a lease-to-own framework.
DoST Secretary Renato Solidum Jr. stated that their partnership with PNOC RC represents their intention to possess their own energy source, and no longer rely on fossil fuels.
