A South Korean allegedly involved in embezzling 4.8 billion won, or $2.4 million, from South Korea's national health insurance program in 204 has been arrested by the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Bureau of Immigration (BI) Fugitive Search Unit on January 9 in Mandaluyong City.

The Korean, Choe Young Sam, 45 years old, was found to be long sought by the International Police due to his involvement, and his accomplices' in the fraudulent claim of medical reimbursements that amounted to 4.6 billion won from their country's national health insurance.

Choe has a warrant of arrest from the Wonju branch of the Chuncheon District court in South Korea.

Choe will initially remain in the jail of the PNP-NCRPO before being transferred to Camp Bagong Diwa, Taguig City for the process of his deportation from the country.

The BI stated that Choe is already blacklisted in the country.
