The country continues to experience rainfall due to the southwest monsoon, significantly affecting Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

According to the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Administration (PAGASA), Mimaropa, Western Visayas, Negros Island Region, Zamboanga Peninsula, Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi will experience rainfall, thunder, and lightning within the next 24 hours.
PAGASA warns of the possibility of sudden flooding or landslides due to moderate to heavy rainfall in these areas.
Metro Manila and the remaining parts of the country can also expect intermittent rainfall, thunder, and lightning today, August 26, 2024. The seas are expected to be mildly to moderately wavy.
Meanwhile, the monitored Typhoon Shanshan remains outside of the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) and is not expected to affect the current weather condition in the country. Typhoon Shanshan was spotted 1,725 kilometers northeast of Northern Luzon and is not expected to enter the country.
