Super Typhoon Pepito (international name: Man-Yi) has now reached Quirino Province after making its second landfall in Dipaculao, Aurora at 3:20 PM, November 17, 2024.

The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) stated that the typhoon Pepito still carries strong winds of up to 185 kilometers per hour near its center, with gusts reaching up to 305 kilometers per hour, moving towards the northwest at a speed of 25 kilometers per hour.

The typhoon first made landfall in Panganiban, Catanduanes in the Bicol Region around 9:40 PM last November 16, Saturday.

After its landfall in Aurora today, Sunday, it is now crossing the northern part of Central Luzon and southern part of Northern Luzon, traversing the mountainous regions of Sierra Madre, Caraballo, and Cordillera Central until tonight.

PAGASA estimates that Typhoon Pepito will exit Luzon's landmass tonight or early morning, November 18, 2024.

The weakened Typhoon Pepito will continue moving towards the west northwest and will exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) tomorrow morning or noon, November 18.

Outside the PAR, Typhoon Pepito will proceed west or west southwest on Tuesday, November 19, and its movement will be influenced by the incoming surge of northeasterly winds. It will further weaken as it moves into the West Philippine Sea.
