A Chinese man, suspected of being a hacker and allegedly the head of Lucky South 99, the raided Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) hub in Porac, Pampanga, was arrested by authorities at a resort in La Union.

The suspect, whose name has not yet been released, was immediately taken to the Bureau of Immigration (BI) detention facility in Camp Bagong Diwa, Bicutan, Taguig City. The suspect is also facing fraud charges in China.

It was discovered that the group of hackers led by the arrested suspect had been infiltrating the bank accounts of their clients in the United States, United Kingdom, and the Middle East, according to Rendel Sy, head of the BI Fugitive Search Unit.

Sy also suggested that the hacker may have shifted his operations to North Luzon following the raid on their facility in Pampanga.

The Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC) also stated that they are investigating the said hacker to identify other leaders of Lucky South 99.
