The Taguig Police continues to apprehend suspects involved in the illegal drug trade in Taguig City, following recent recognition from the Philippine National Police - National Capital Region Police Office (PNP-NCRPO) for their excellence in capturing individuals linked to illicit drugs.
In a fresh incident, a 44-year-old man was arrested with 16 grams of suspected shabu (methamphetamine), valued at P108,800, in a buy-bust operation on C5 Road in Palar, Barangay Pinagsama, Taguig on September 7.
According to the Taguig Police Drug Enforcement Unit, one of their members posed as a buyer for the suspect, identified as Christopher Labadores. The undercover officer handed over two P100 bills to the suspect. As soon as Labadores took the money and handed over the drugs in a plastic sachet, the hidden officers immediately emerged to arrest him.
Besides the one plastic sachet intended for the undercover buyer, they were able to seize five additional plastic sachets from Labadores.
Labadores is currently being held at the Taguig Police custodial facility, awaiting prosecution for violating the Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
