A total of 1.36 million pesos worth of illegal drugs was confiscated by personnel from the Regional Drug Enforcement Unit (RDEU) of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) and local police in Taguig City on the evening of May 12, 2024. The bust occurred at Labao Extension, Barangay Napindan, Taguig City.

During the buy-bust operation conducted around 6:20 pm on May 12, operatives from the RDEU, along with the Southern Police District - District Drug Enforcement Unit (SPD-DDEU), the Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) of the Taguig City Police Station, and Substation 5 personnel, arrested VP Marquez Villegas. Villegas, 49 years old, is a resident of Barangay Palingon Tipas.

Four plastic sachets sealed with suspected shabu weighing 200 grams were recovered from Villegas, in addition to marked money amounting to ₱1,000 and 3 bundles of boodle money.

Villegas will be charged with violation of Section 5, Article II of Republic Act 9165, also known as "Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, at the Taguig City Prosecutor's Office.
