A grand prize of fifty thousand pesos awaits the winner of the cheerdance competition organized by the City Government of Taguig, named "E-motion: Digital Pathways to Sustainable Cheers - Taguig's Dance Showdown."

In celebration of Youth Week 2024, the City Government invites groups of young Taguig residents from each city barangay to join the cheerdance competition.
The second prize is P30,000; the third prize is P20,000, and the fourth to tenth places will each receive ten thousand pesos.
Special awards, including Best Male and Female Cheerleader, will be given an additional P2,000.
Each barangay in Taguig City can submit one cheer dance video from their residents. All participants must be residents of Taguig City and will be required to present a valid ID with a Taguig address.
The contingent coordinator or choreographer, or any authorized representative, must attend meetings called by the competition organizer.
Submit the completed entry form to the City Health Office, second floor, Room 11 HEPO.

Submit a five to seven-minute cheerdance video. Each participating group must have 12 to 16 cheerdancers aged 14 to 24 years old. There should also be five spotters. Participants aged 14 to 17 years old must have parental consent. Throwing of cheerleaders or cheerdancers is prohibited.
The theme is "From Clicks to Progress: Youth Digital Pathway for Sustainable Development," which participants must follow.
All participating barangays must submit their video performance to [email protected] on or before August 23, 2024, at 11:59 PM.
The top 10 finalists will be announced on August 6, 2024, on the Facebook Page 'I Love Taguig.'
The criteria for judging are:
- Choreography (Synchronization, Dance, Transition, Overall Effect) - 35%
- Stunts and Pyramids (Difficulty, Execution, Creativity) - 30%
- Cheer (Clarity of Voice, Ability to Engage the Crowd) - 10%
- Costume and Props (Creativity and Design) - 25%
In the final competition, the cheerleaders will perform live on August 31, 2024, at Taguig Lakeshore Hall. The top 10 barangays from the preliminary competition that make it to the finals will showcase their skills on August 31.

Additional rules for the Taguig City cheerdance competition are as follows:
The cheer must be performed acapella. The cheer can be shouted in English or Tagalog. It must highlight their barangay and align with the theme "From Clicks to Progress: Youth Digital Pathway for Sustainable Development."
For stunts, the 2.5 pyramid is not allowed and may result in a score deduction. Only level 4 stunts assisted by three to four main bases are allowed. Throwing cheerdancers is prohibited.
When tumbling, it must be performed just once and only one twist or rotation is allowed.
Drops are not allowed unless supported by hands or feet to control the fall. Tension drops and rolls are also not allowed.
In dancing, jumping, spinning, kicking, splitting, and using arms in their movements or techniques are allowed.
For props, participants may use pom-poms and other soft materials related to the competition theme. Use of pyrotechnics or firecrackers and any inflammable items is prohibited.
Wearing jewelry during the competition is also not allowed. Competing under the influence of alcohol, illegal drugs, or any performance-enhancing substances is prohibited. A "Fit to Play" certification from the Taguig health center is also required.
