The Fort Strip in Bonifacio Global City (BGC) has closed, but no information has been announced yet on where the shut businesses will relocate or what will happen to the site.

Taguig City Mayor Lani Cayetano and Senator Alan Peter Cayetano were among those who visited the site, reminiscing about the times when this first entertainment spot in BGC was at the height of popularity.

"A quick lunch turned into a heartwarming trip down memory lane!" Mayor Cayetano stated in a post on her Facebook Page, Lani Cayetano.

"We briefly toured The Fort Strip with Doc Ces, City Admin JGM, Kuya Alan, and the sweet couple Chi and Kap Jorge. It's delightful to learn that their unforgettable first date took place here," Mayor Cayetano added.

She mentioned that The Fort Strip was one of the first favorite recreational places in BGC.

"This was a go-to place for different occasions-from Taguig leaders' meetings, lunch with family and friends, to date nights. This strip witnessed the joyful memories of Taguigeños and the rise of BGC as one of the business capitals of the country," according to Mayor Cayetano.

The mayor said that although it's sad the establishments at The Fort Strip will be demolished, the next chapter is eagerly awaited.

"Thank you to all the establishments that first invested here, providing jobs for many of our fellow citizens," Mayor Cayetano concluded.

BGC announced the closure of The Fort Strip from January 1, 2025, on their Facebook Page on December 11, 2024.
