Taguig City Mayor Lani Cayetano secured the fifth rank in the third-quarter survey concerning the performance of city mayors in the National Capital Region (NCR). The survey was conducted by the RP-Mission and Development Foundation Incorporated (RPMD) from September 20 to 30, 2023.
Cayetano received a score of 85.5%. Sharing the fifth position with Cayetano is Marikina Mayor Marcy Teodoro, who scored slightly higher with 85.8%.
According to Dr. Paul Martinez, a Global Affairs Analyst and Executive Director of RPMD, there are seven main criteria for selecting the top mayors of Metro Manila. These include service provision, financial efficiency, economic progress, environmental conservation, initiatives for citizens, and community engagement.
Martinez commended the NCR mayors for their leadership excellence and service to their communities.
The "Top Performing NCR Mayors" survey is part of RPMD's Boses ng Bayan poll, where the confidence level of the surveyed is at 95% and the margin of error is ±1%.
Topping the survey were Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte and Malabon City Mayor Jeannie Sandoval. Coming in second were Navotas City Mayor John Rey Tiangco and Caloocan City Mayor Along Malapitan, Parañaque Mayor Eric Olivarez, and Pasay City Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano.
Securing the third position in the survey were Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto, Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna, and Makati Mayor Abby Binay.
The fourth position was occupied by Mandaluyong Mayor Ben Abalos, Sr., Muntinlupa Mayor Ruffy Biazon, and Valenzuela Mayor Wes Gatchalian.
The sixth position was taken by San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora, seventh went to Pateros Mayor Ike Ponce III and eighth to Las Piñas Mayor Imelda Aguilar.
