Students at local universities are being personally visited by the Taguig City Health Office as part of a campaign to spread awareness about breast cancer.
The second phase of the "Ating Dibdibin Goes to U: University Caravan" saw over 360 students and staff from Fisher Valley College in Barangay Hagonoy participate in the event on November 21, 2024.
Assistant City Health Officer and Ating Dibdibin Program Coordinator Dr. Maria Evelyn Lacsina clarified common misconceptions about breast cancer.
Attendees at the seminar were also trained in the appropriate breast self-examination techniques for both women and men.
Breast cancer survivor and Pink Crusader, Lady Milla, was also present at the event, sharing her experiences.
"So you, share what you've learned here and tell them not to be afraid to go to the centers and approach patient navigators because they are there to guide and help. They never tire of helping. Let's also always pray and never lose hope," said Lady Milla.
The "Ating Dibdibin Program" was recently recognized as the 2024 Galing Pook Awardee by the Department of Interior and Local Government.
