The vibrant Taguig River Festival is set to resume its run this year with a series of celebrations in commemoration of the Feast Day of St. Anne on the last weekend of July.

A tribute event titled "A Salute to Grandma", in partnership with the Minor Basilica and the Archdiocesan Shrine Parish of St. Anne and Regatta, is scheduled for July 24, 2024.

The "Indakan sa Daan" (Street Dance) event will take place on July 25, 2024, and the festivities will conclude with a River Pagoda on July 26, 2024.

The Taguig River Festival is held annually on the last weekend of July to celebrate and give thanks for the abundant harvest of sea mullet from the Taguig River. Taguig was known as a fishing village in its early years, with the sea mullet being one of the main catches that the people of Taguig are grateful for.

The celebration, which includes a river parade and Regatta, is now a part of the culture and tradition of the residents of Taguig.

For those participating in the River Pagoda on July 26, rules have been issued by the Steering Committee, which include:

1. All participating boats must be registered with the Lake and River Management Office (09171573639/ 09560872179/ 09569847278)
2. Only registered motorized boats will be allowed to participate.
3. All participating boats must submit a manifest to the LRMO (under the Sta. Ana-Bambang Bridge) by noon on July 24, 2024. The manifest form can be downloaded from this link:

4. Only boats with a number and the official logo of the Taguig River Festival will be allowed to participate.
5. The Coast Guard will inspect the registered boats and their manifests to ensure that -
• only 10 people are onboard each boat;
• all participants are wearing life jackets;
• all boats are equipped with safety equipment, including a buoy and first aid kit;
• minors are not allowed to ride in the boats;
• jumping and swimming in the Taguig River and Laguna Lake during the River Pagoda are prohibited;
• littering in the river and lake is forbidden.
6. The following items are prohibited and will be confiscated if found on the boats:
a. Alcohol;
b. Fireworks;
c. Drugs and banned substances;
d. Firearms;
e. Any kind of weapon;
f. Balloons.
7. The dock at Pulong Kendi, Brgy. Sta. Ana will serve as the only docking area where boats participating in the River Pagoda will start and end. Boats will not be allowed to enter or exit other docks along the Pagoda route.
8. If PAGASA issues a typhoon signal, the Philippine Coast Guard will not permit the River Pagoda to proceed.
