Personnel from the BI Fugitive Search Unit captured Geong in his residence in Barangay Taculing, Bacolod City, Negros Occidental.

Geong managed to hide by using various aliases, including Joginder Geyong and Kanta Gupta.

The Indian government requested the BI to locate Geong, who was discovered to be in hiding in the Philippines due to his involvement in various criminal activities and terrorism in India.

"He will be deported for being an undesirable, undocumented, and illegally staying alien whose presence here amounts to a blatant violation of our immigration laws," stated BI Commissioner Norman Tansingco.
