Three Chinese nationals, currently facing charges both in the Philippines and China, will be transferred to the custody of the Bureau of Immigration (BI) at Camp Bagong Diwa, Bicutan, Taguig City. This transfer will occur once they have answered to the charges they are facing in this country, particularly kidnapping and illegal detention of a Vietnamese individual.

Currently in the custody of the Parañaque City Police are the arrested individuals, Jun Chen, 28 years old; Hongru Zhang, 26 years old; and Hao Zhen, 27 years old. They were apprehended by the BI Fugitive Search Unit (FSU) in Barangay Tambo, Parañaque.
Immigration Chief Norman Tansingco stated that the three cannot be returned to China yet even though their arrest was based on a mission order in response to a request from China related to the charges they are facing in their home country.
This is because the three are facing charges of robbery, grave coercion, illegal detention, gun possession, and illegal drug trading, which were brought against them by the police at the Parañaque City prosecutor's office.
"They can only be deported after the criminal cases against them are resolved and, if convicted, they will have to first serve their sentence in jail," explained Tansingco.
The criminal charges were filed against the three Chinese nationals after police rescued a kidnapped Vietnamese national who had been illegally detained by them.
The three Chinese nationals were initially arrested by the BI FSU due to arrest warrants issued by the public security bureau in Jinjiang, China. One of them is also overstaying in the country.
The three are now undocumented aliens after the Chinese government cancelled their passports.
