Three male lechon (roast pig) makers were caught in possession of grenades and illegal firearms in Barangay Rizal, Taguig City on the afternoon of July 10th.

Around 3:20PM on Wednesday, the Taguig City Police, along with SWAT and TMRU, located the suspects known as Baste, an 18-year-old, Ray, a 19-year-old, and Biboy, a 27-year-old, carrying two grenades and two .38 firearms with ammunition on Lopez Jaena St., Barangay Rizal.

A concerned citizen alerted the Taguig Police after noticing two suspects walking with weapons.

Authorities confiscated from Biboy a .38 caliber revolver with five bullets and a grenade.

Ray was also found in possession of a hand grenade.

Baste was discovered carrying a .38 caliber revolver with four bullets.

Upon investigation, it was revealed that the three lechon makers were involved in the shooting of a Taguig police officer on June 23, 2024.

By July 3, 2024, six individuals involved in the police shooting had been charged with frustrated murder and attempted murder at the Taguig City Prosecutor's Office.

The three suspects are now detained at the Taguig City Police Custodial Facility. They will face charges for violating Republic Act (RA) 10591, also known as the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Act and RA 9516, or the Illegal Possession of Explosives Act.
