Starting July 1, 2024, for a period of 30 days, all commuters exiting the Cavite Expressway (CAVITEX) will not have to pay toll fees.

Raul Ignacio, President and General Manager of the Cavite Infrastructure Corporation, shared that after consultation with the Philippine Reclamation Authority (PRA), they decided to implement the toll-free scheme in response to the statement of President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. regarding a toll holiday for the CAVITEX C5 Link Segment 2.

Those who will not pay toll fees for 30 days are the commuters exiting Kawit, Paranaque, C5 Link segment Merville, Taguig, and the newly opened Segment 2, or Sucat Interchange.

Ignacio stated that, while their revenue would be affected, they support the decision to help motorists travel the expressway without any worries.

The new CAVITEX C5 Link Sucat Interchange is a 1.9-kilometer, 2x3 lane expressway that connects CAVITEX R-1 (Coastal Rd.) from Parañaque Toll Plaza to Sucat via the R-1 interchange. The usual one-hour commute will be reduced to just 5 minutes.

In the meantime, the 1.3 kilometer, 2x2 lane CAVITEX-CALAX Link, or CLink, will connect CAVITEX and Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX). Completion is anticipated by mid-2025, which will help alleviate traffic on Tirona Highway and Centennial Road.

The two-kilometer CAVITEX C5 Link Segment 3B will connect CAVITEX Parañaque to the west and C5 Road Taguig to the east, and will be completed as part of the ongoing CAVITEX C5 Link project in 2025.
