The two men were arrested while guarding a Filipino-Chinese businessman at the Ogawa Hotpot on 4th Street, Bonifacio Global City (BGC), Taguig City on June 3, 2024. Two firearms, five magazines, and 35 rounds of ammunition were confiscated from them.

According to the Philippine National Police (PNP) Supervisory Office for Security and Investigation Agencies (SOSIA), several who are conducting illegal bodyguard activities, or whose protection agency licenses are non-existent or expired, have been apprehended since May 31, 2024.
Violation Ticket Reports have also been issued to agencies that illegally deploy protection agents providing service to both Filipinos and foreigners. Common violations include the lack of a License to Exercise Security Profession (LESP) and working without an Authority to Deploy Protection Agent (ADPA) and Special Duty Detail Order (SDDO), which are issued by SOSIA and the Police Security and Protection Group (PSPG).
Charges have already been filed against the principal individuals involved in the illegal deployment of these bodyguards for violation of Republic Act 11917, or the Private Security Services Industry Act. The Taguig City Prosecutor's Office received the charges on June 11, 2024. Among those charged are the two bodyguards and their agency.
