Barangay Napindan and Barangay North Daang Hari were the latest additions to the list of barangays cleared of illegal drugs.
The deliberation was held at the Pasig City University Auditorium and attended by the acting Chief of Police of Taguig City Police Station, Police Colonel Christopher Olazo, and the head of the Taguig Anti-Drug Abuse Office, Hilario Cruz.
The drug-cleared barangay status is awarded to barangays that previously harbored drug-related activities due to certain personalities involved in illegal drugs within their barangay, which have now been suppressed.
"These areas have successfully addressed drug issues through verified efforts and campaigns. Under the leadership of Mayor Lani Cayetano, Taguig City has intensified its fight against illegal drugs with comprehensive programs aimed at educating and engaging its communities," the Taguig City Government stated in a release.
The Taguig Anti-Drug Abuse Office ensures the continuation of their preventive education, maintaining drug-free workplaces, assisting those who want to reform and recover, as well as implementing drug-clearing programs in the barangays of Taguig.
