Typhoon Julian exited the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) at 9:00 am yesterday (October 1, 2024), according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
However, it is projected to recurve and re-enter the PAR this Wednesday. PAGASA reports that Typhoon Julian will start its recurving path on the morning of October 2, and will re-enter the PAR by the afternoon or evening.

Typhoon Julian is expected to make landfall in the southwest region of Taiwan tonight or Thursday morning, October 3. It may exit the PAR again on Thursday evening or Friday morning.
Severe to typhoon-level winds extending up to 560 kilometers from the center are anticipated.
In PAGASA's latest report at 11:00 pm last night, October 1, 2024, Typhoon Julian is weakening as it approaches the Taiwan Strait, southwest of Taiwan. The eye of the storm is located 270 kilometers west-northwest of Itbayat, Batanes, or outside of the PAR.
The winds it carries are at 185 kilometers per hour near the center with gusts up to 230 kilometers per hour.
Currently, Signal Number 1 is raised over Batanes, Babuyan Islands, mainland Cagayan, Apayao, Kalinga, Abra, Mountain Province, Ilocos Norte, and Ilocos Sur.
Venturing out to sea at this time remains dangerous.
