Typhoon Kristine is making its landfall in Isabela while maintaining wind speeds of 95 kilometers per hour near the center, with gusts reaching up to 135 kilometers per hour.
As of 10:00 PM on October 23, 2024, Severe Tropical Storm Kristine was located off the coast of Palanan, Isabela.
Moving at a speed of 20 kilometers per hour, the breadth of the area affected by its strong winds extends to 730 kilometers from the center.
Wind Signal Number 3 has been raised in the following areas:
Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Ifugao, southern part of Abra (Malibcong, Licuan-Baay, Sallapadan, Daguioman, Bucloc, Boliney, Tubo, Luba, Manabo, Bucay, Villaviciosa, Pilar, San Isidro, Peñarrubia), Benguet, northern and central Aurora (Dilasag, Casiguran, Dinalungan, Dipaculao, Maria Aurora, Baler), northern Nueva Ecija (Carranglan, Lupao, San Jose City, Pantabangan, Guimba, Santo Domingo, Talavera, Llanera, Rizal, Bongabon, Talugtug, Science City of Muñoz, Cuyapo, Nampicuan), northern Tarlac (Mayantoc, San Clemente, Camiling, Santa Ignacia, Gerona, Paniqui, Moncada, San Manuel, Anao, Ramos, Pura, Victoria), northern Zambales (Candelaria, Santa Cruz, Masinloc), Pangasinan, La Union, and central and southern Ilocos Sur.
Signal number 2 has been raised in the following areas: Ilocos Norte, the remaining parts of Ilocos Sur, Apayao, the remaining parts of Abra, Cagayan including Babuyan Islands, the remaining parts of Aurora, the remaining parts of Nueva Ecija, Bulacan, the remaining parts of Tarlac, Pampanga, the remaining parts of Zambales, Bataan, Metro Manila, Cavite, Laguna, Rizal, Batangas, northern and central Quezon including Polillo Islands, and northwestern Camarines Norte.
Signal Number 1 has been raised in: Batanes, other parts of Quezon, Occidental Mindoro including Lubang Islands, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, northern Palawan, Cuyo Islands, Calamian Islands, the remaining parts of Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Albay, Sorsogon, and Masbate including Ticao and Burias Islands.
Signal number 1 has also been raised in: Aklan, Capiz, Antique including Caluya Islands, Iloilo, Guimaras, northern Negros Occidental, northern Cebu including Bantayan Islands and Camotes Islands, Northern Samar, Samar, Biliran, northern and eastern Eastern Samar, and the northern and central parts of Leyte.
The winds brought by Typhoon Kristine and the Northeasterly Windflow are expected to strengthen and affect the following areas today, October 24, 2024:
MIMAROPA, Bicol Region, Visayas, Basilan, Sulu, Tawi-Tawi, Zamboanga del Norte, Lanao del Sur, Northern Mindanao, Dinagat Islands, Surigao del Norte, Davao del Sur, and Davao Oriental.
As Typhoon Kristine makes landfall, it is expected to cross Northern Luzon in the next 12 hours, pass through the mountains of Northern Luzon and reemerge off the coast of Ilocos Region this morning, October 24.
It will head west, towards the West Philippine Sea, and is expected to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility by the afternoon of October 25, 2024, Friday.
