Typhoon Marce is anticipated to make landfall and traverse the Babuyan Islands and the northern sections of mainland Cagayan, Ilocos Norte, and Apayao from this afternoon, November 7, 2024, until early Friday morning, November 8, 2024.
Typhoon Marce continues to intensify, now classified as a "typhoon," as it moves west-northwest towards the northern mainland of Cagayan and the Babuyan Islands area.
PAGASA sighted the typhoon's eye at 10:00 last night, 240 kilometers east of Aparri, Cagayan (18.3°N, 123.9°E).
It carries winds reaching speeds of 155 kilometers per hour near its center, with gusts reaching up to 190 kilometers per hour and a central pressure of 955 hPa.
Moving at a speed of 10 kilometers per hour west-northwest, its wind strength spans up to 560 kilometers from its center.
Signal Number 3 is now raised over the following areas:

• Babuyan Islands
• Eastern part of Apayao

Typhoon Marce may have already reached its maximum wind strength and may slightly weaken as it passes over the mountainous regions of mainland Luzon while making landfall, according to PAGASA. However, it will remain within the typhoon category as it moves through the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).
Typhoon Marce is forecasted to move west-northwest until tomorrow morning, November 7, 2024, over the waters east of Cagayan before gradually accelerating westward in the afternoon until Saturday, November 9, 2024, over the Babuyan Channel and the northern part of the West Philippine Sea.
Typhoon Marce may exit the PAR region by Friday night.
