Typhoon Marce has intensified into a full-fledged typhoon, spotted this morning (November 5, 2024) at around 10:00 a.m., approximately 590 kilometers east of Baler, Aurora (16.4°N, 127.1°E).
The typhoon packs winds of 120 kilometers per hour near its center and gusts up to 150 kilometers per hour, with a central pressure of 970 hPa.
Currently, it's moving west-northwest at a speed of 30 kilometers per hour. The span of its powerful winds extends approximately 580 kilometers from its center.
Signal Number One has been raised over the following areas in Luzon: Batanes, Cagayan, Babuyan Islands, Isabela, Ilocos Norte, Apayao, Abra, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Ifugao, the northern part of Nueva Vizcaya (Diadi, Bagabag, Ambaguio, Villaverde, Bayombong, Solano, Quezon, Kasibu), the northern part of Quirino (Diffun, Saguday, Cabarroguis, Aglipay, Maddela) and the northern part of Aurora (Dilasag, Casiguran, Dinalungan).
Heavy rainfall is expected due to the typhoon, especially as it combines with northeasterly winds.
Seafarers are advised to postpone their trips in seas affected by the wind and rain brought about by Typhoon Marce.
